This book was everything I expected and more. Bloodlines is a novella set between The House of Grenville and The House of Garrick and it’s a such a fantastic read from other POV’s about the time where Louisa goes missing and everything in between. Frankie & Cora’s story is jam packed full of intense moments, trauma and of course secrets. I found Frankie to be such a loveable rogue, while he’s battling with his own traumas in life he’s definitely determined to become the leader he is deemed to be. I loved that we got a lot more of Zach in this book too, the Grenville boys are something else but Zach had me melting on the floor in this. Cora.. what a queen she is, instead of falling trap to an arranged marriage she follows her heart and won’t let anything stand in her way, her and Frankie are such a great match. I can’t wait for the next instalment of this epic series, I can never get enough of these characters. B.Green has such an amazing writing style and can certainly bring a story to life, you never cease to amaze me.
This book is technically a 1.5, as it’s set between House of Grenville and House of Garrick, and we follow Frankie and Cora, not our main throuple Lou, Ben and Zach.
Frankie is inherently an unlikable character and while he does end up growing some balls, I don’t think I can truly forgive him not doing more to get Lou back especially after watching the video - that’s just unforgivable.
Cora is your typical upperclass girl, who finds the golden cage restricting and falls for the bad boy. How she can look through Frankie’s many flaws is beyond me, however, she is all good intentions.
With all of that being said, I loved every page. Despite the book being only 149 pages, it packs a lot of punch and solid story telling. Sure, Green could have added another 300 pages of fluff and back and forth, but I actually prefer this - sure it’s fast paced, but I am 100% onboard with that!
I absolutely love this world, the characters are super interesting and they’re allowed to all be deeply flawed.
The ending is a cliffhanger, and I guess I just need to wait a WHOLE YEAR for the next book! Worth the wait though.
This is definitely a series I’ll finish and you’ll find me preordering the last book as soon as Green announces it!
